The Sweetest Thing

Its a little after 1 am, Friday morning and I just finished watching "Spanglish" with my cousin Cyrus (interesting movie) and I absolutely had to put something on my blog that happened earlier this week.

Last weekend my girlfriend went on a retreat where she got to meet the people who she would be working with over the summer (a choir ministry team). It just so happens that at the retreat she met a girl who to go to The Master's College. She asked her if she knew me, but of course...she did not. haha. Anyways, the girl knows Annie (a friend of Rebecca's who also goes to Point Loma), and Annie happens to have the exact same type of car that I have, color and all. So Rebecca asked her if she could look for my car on Tuesday and place it on my car before my class ended at 1235. This wouldn't be a problem because I park in front of the biblical studies center and it is a small parking lot.

So Rebecca tells me to be anticipating a note from her once I get out of my class on Tuesday. So I leave my class and look out across the parking lot and notice a white piece of paper on the windshield of my car....along with a couple of roses. I got the biggest smile on my face and walked quickly to the car to retrieve the goodies. I placed the roses in the car and as I was about to open the letter I noticed Rebecca walking towards me. That's right! She actually drove three hours to visit me for the day! When I saw her...I didn't believe it was her. I couldn't believe it! It was so incredibly sweet and thoughtful. And it gets even better. She packed a picnic! So we ended up having a picnic in this nice residential area (hehehe) right next to a beautiful pond with ducks swimming in it. It was sooo amazing. She did this...all for me.

Now I know me saying this would be considered the classic "mushy", "sappy" stuff that everyone says when they are dating someone, but I am going to say it and I am not going to spend time defending it! First off...I don't deserve her. I really REALLY, don't (what can I say? She's great!). But that doesn't change the fact of how much I treasure her heart and cherish the bond that we are sharing.

She is so wonderful and so amazing and I am really frustrated that for the past two weeks my vocabulary is restricted by those two words. They don't express what I know about her and what I feel for her. How can I make the reader of this blog understand what kind of woman she is? Does it matter? Yes it does! In everyones life, there are people so sweet, so special, so genuine, that we are severely and deeply changed by them. It is because of those individuals that we are molded into the people we are. Therefore, we can't help but share to others about these beloved people in our lives.

So much of the good that is in me is there because of her influence in my life. She has taught me many things and has been a faithful example when I needed one. And now God has blessed me by allowing me to be in a unique part of her life that I have desired for so long. I am so excited to see where our journey together brings us too.

I do miss her constantly, but whenever I am lonely, I just think of her special smile and I can't help but simply.....smile back.

yes yes, its all sappy. But you know what? Its all golden.

Peace!

Movie Recommendation

To recap a tad on whats been happening, well Easter was so sooo amazing. I got to spend the weekend with Rebecca and she is, by far, the sweetest girl. I had the greatest time with her and I miss her dreadfully. In three weeks I will be visitng her again. Sweeeet!!

Another thing is I am working for my aunt Susie as her gardener. I work anywhere from 6 to 9 hours a week and get paid 10 bucks an hour. Its a great job and its highly flexible.

I now want to mention four movies that I have seen:

1) Sin City: This movie is quite hard to describe because it is so unique. Its definitely original. It had a great story line and kept you intrigued throughout the entire film. There is a couple of "racy" parts in the beginning, but besides this (and the immense amount of gore), the movie was fascinating.

2) Robots: This movie turned out to be much more funnier than I expected. I have to admit that it was a little odd getting used to nothing but robots playing as the characters, but it turned out to be a fun ride.

3) Hitch: This movie was great. I will say that it is not AS funny as the trailer played it off to be, but I do not feel that it put a detriment on the movie because of it. Anyone looking for a good fun movie, Hitch is the way to go.

4) Constantine: It is hard to say if this movie merges over the line of sac-religious, but the creators do not claim that it does. I enjoyed the movie and found the story line to be very interesting. Anyone who likes the concepts of demons and spiritual warfare displayed in movies, then this is a must see. Although I will make mention that upon watching the film, that one does not take its "biblical" claims as remotely true.

For the rest of today....for the most part anyway hehe....I will be studying for my Old Testament Survey test that is on Tuesday. I do hope all the readers are having a much more exciting Saturday. Peace out!!

...And Rebecca, I love ya sweetie!!
